Crochet times
How's life for everyone this summer? Mines been so hectic. I have a NOC shift job that I'm averaging 24hrs a week on and it's really messed with my sleep patterns. Ugh. But enough of my problems, let's talk crochet!
I just completed my first sweater project for my 5yr old daughter. I got the pattern from a magazine and though it doesn't look exactly like the picture, it turned out cute! I went on to make a hat that I completed yesterday to match. I can't wait to put the outfit together and take pictures. My camera (once again) is on the fritz and in for repair, but as soon as I can, I will get pictures up!!! I promise!
My 16yr old son liked the crochet dragon I did for my 3yr old this Christmas so much that for his birthday, he asked for one too! He picked out the yarn for it and I have to get moving on it. The only problem I'm running into now is that the yarn is a very difficult one to work with. There are knots and such and not easy to hook through stitches. But, hey, how often does one's 16yr old SON ask for a homemade stuffed animal?? I feel honored and can't wait to finish it for him!
Hey everyone,
I don't think I mentioned the CareBear I made for my friend's soon to be baby boy! Oh that was fun and difficult...but it turned out pretty good!
I have a few other projects I want to get started on soon. One is a crochet confederate flag. My husband is a Civil War Buff and has re-enacted a few times on the Confederate side (as he and his family originate in the South) so it would mean a lot to him. He also had relatives in the civil war.
I forgot to mention I made my first "purse" out of crochet this year. I wanted a liner and ended up using a men's hankerchief to line it. I "tacked" it in sewing by hand and it turned out rather nice. I still would like to add a zipper to it.
Well, that's enough hook talk for now....I'll keep you posted!
